Overview of the Role:
The primary purpose of this position is to support the Credit Union’s Service Mission:
“Improving the financial well-being of each member and the communities we serve,” by providing reliable, responsive, and friendly technical support to internal team members.
This role focuses on day-to-day IT support, assisting staff with technology issues, maintaining equipment, and ensuring systems are functioning properly. The IT Support Technician will work closely with the IT team and vendors to help maintain a stable, secure, and efficient technology environment.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Service & Support:
- Deliver service consistent with our Service Promises.
- Provide timely, professional support to staff via Help Desk, email, phone, or messaging.
- Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and access issues and escalate when needed.
- Clearly document issues, resolutions, and communication in the ticketing system.
User & Equipment Support:
- Set up and configure new user accounts, workstations, and equipment.
- Assist with password resets, access requests, and basic system navigation.
- Install and update standard software applications.
- Perform basic maintenance on PCs, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Coordinate repair or replacement of equipment when needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory of IT assets.
Systems & Operations Support:
- Assist in monitoring daily system operations and report issues to senior IT staff.
- Support basic functions of the core banking system and related applications.
- Help monitor network, phone, and branch connectivity issues and escalate appropriately.
- Assist with routine system updates, patches, and maintenance activities.
- Support ITMs, branch technology, and digital systems as needed.
Security & Compliance:
- Follow all Credit Union security policies and procedures.
- Protect sensitive information including passwords, access credentials, and member data.
- Support basic security processes such as antivirus updates and system checks.
- Participate in required compliance training including BSA/AML and information security.
Team & Continuous Improvement:
- Work collaboratively with IT team members and other departments.
- Assist with small IT projects and system upgrades.
- Maintain and follow standard operating procedures.
- Identify and communicate opportunities to improve processes or efficiency.
- Continue building technical skills and knowledge.
Other Duties:
- Ability to work occasional flexible hours as needed (including weekends for upgrades or support).
- Participate in training, workshops, and team meetings.
- Maintain positive working relationships across the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Credentials, Experience and Skills:
Education & Experience:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-2 years of IT or technical support experience (internships or school experience acceptable).
Technical Skills:
Basic understanding of:
- Windows operating systems.
- Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
- Computer hardware and peripherals.
Familiarity with:
- Help desk or ticketing systems (a plus).
- Active Directory concepts (user accounts, passwords).
- Basic networking concepts (Wi-Fi, connectivity).
